Job summary

Base-2 Solutions seeks a Senior Java Developer to modernize a critical government information system. This role focuses on upgrading a complex software stack, including Solr with ZooKeeper, Tomcat, Directory Studio, and Java/Python components on Windows VMware infrastructure.

You will ensure secure coding practices and seamless upgrades with minimal disruption. Ideal candidates have deep enterprise Java experience, Python proficiency, and hands-on work with Oracle 19c and SAP BI reporting

Qualifications

• Enterprise Java development on Windows-based VMware infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience upgrading Solr with ZooKeeper, including index data migration.
• Experience with Apache Tomcat and Apache Directory Studio.
• Experience with Oracle 19c relational databases.
• Experience with SAP BI reporting frameworks.
• Secure coding practices for government compliance.
• Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute technology stack upgrades for enterprise Java applications in secure government environments.
• Develop and maintain Java/Python components on Windows-based VMware infrastructure.
• Modernize legacy application code to current standards and best practices.
• Implement secure coding practices in compliance with government security requirements.
• Upgrade Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper coordination.
• Migrate and optimize Solr index data during version upgrades.
• Manage Apache Tomcat application server configurations and deployments.
• Integrate applications with Oracle 19c database systems.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and business stakeholder teams.
• Ensure minimal operational disruption during system upgrades.
• Document technical designs, upgrade procedures, and system configurations.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
