Base-2 Solutions seeks a Senior Java Developer to modernize a critical government information system. The role emphasizes enterprise Java on Windows VMware, Solr upgrades, and Oracle 19c integration, with Secure coding practices and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will upgrade Solr clusters, migrate index data, and coordinate with security and infrastructure teams to minimize downtime. Prior experience with PrimeFaces is a plus, and hybrid on-site/remote work is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise Java application development for Windows-based VMware infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Python.
• Expertise with Apache Solr with ZooKeeper and Solr upgrades/migrations.
• Experience with Tomcat and Directory Studio.
• Experience integrating Oracle 19c databases.
• Experience with SAP BI reporting frameworks.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices for government compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute upgrades for enterprise Java apps in secure gov environments.
• Develop Java/Python components on Windows VMware infrastructure.
• Modernize legacy code to current standards.
• Implement secure coding practices per government requirements.
• Upgrade Solr clusters with ZooKeeper coordination.
• Migrate Solr index data during upgrades.
• Manage Tomcat server configurations and deployments.
• Integrate applications with Oracle 19c databases.
• Work with Directory Studio for directory services.
• Support SAP BI reporting framework integrations.
• Collaborate with security, infra, and business teams.
• Minimize operational disruption during upgrades.
• Document designs, upgrade procedures, and configurations.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
