Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within Commercial & Community Banking to join an agile team delivering trusted technology products that are secure, scalable, and reliable.

You will be a core technical contributor, shaping solutions across multiple domains, driving AI-assisted engineering practices, and mentoring teams to improve code quality, security, and delivery speed while strengthening the firm’s information architecture.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading AI-assisted software development tools with validation for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity considerations, and secure handling.
• Advanced Java/J2EE including Java 17 with annotation, enums, collections, streaming, multithreading.
• Experience with Spring for SOAP/REST web services, MVC, and Spring Boot.
• Strong AWS experience: IAM, VPC, EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, etc.
• Experience with build and integration tools (JIRA, Maven, Git, Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket).
• Development using Agile methodology and web security practices (OAuth2/ADFS, Kerberos, XSS, HTTP injection).
• Hands-on experience delivering design, development, testing, and operations.

• Drives AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operations.
• Applies SDLC tooling to improve automation and value.
• Develops secure production code and reviews code written by others.

• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architecture.
• Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies.
• Contributes to an inclusive team culture.
