Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a backend-focused software engineer to design and operate scalable production services using Java and JVM frameworks. You will architect event-driven systems with Kafka/SQS/SNS, apply DDD patterns, and build robust RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities include deploying on AWS/Azure with Kubernetes, maintaining CI/CD and IaC, and improving observability. Experience with AI-assisted development and mentoring peers is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production backend services at scale.
• Strong Java proficiency with Quarkus/Spring Boot.
• Experience with Kafka, SQS, SNS and asynchronous processing.
• Knowledge of DDD, bounded contexts, sagas, idempotency, and outbox.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL, DynamoDB or similar.
• Cloud and Kubernetes on AWS or Azure.
• CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), GitOps.
• Observability with Datadog and load testing (k6/Gatling/JMeter).
• AI-powered development tools and governance familiarity.
• Ability to mentor peers and promote engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and scalable production systems.
• Architect event-driven architectures with Kafka, SQS, SNS.
• Apply DDD, bounded contexts, sagas, and outbox patterns.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs; explore gRPC/GraphQL/AsyncAPI.
• Optimize relational/NoSQL data stores, caching, and migrations.
• Deploy and operate on AWS or Azure using Kubernetes.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and IaC with GitOps practices.
• Enhance observability and conduct load testing to identify bottlenecks.
• Incorporate AI assistants into development workflows with governance.
• Collaborate across teams and mentor colleagues.
