Job summary
Rocket Financial Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java/AI-Enabled) to lead backend development and contribute to frontend work as needed. You will build scalable Java-based services, design robust architectures, and leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery.
The role is fully remote with a flexible East Coast-aligned schedule and opportunities to work with modern tech and AI-enabled development practices.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus in Java.
- Experience with Spring, microservices, and REST APIs.
- Comfortable across the stack (React/TypeScript or similar).
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Claude, Codex, etc.).
- Strong system design and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Docker, CI/CD, and AWS.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale Java-based backend systems and microservices.
- Contribute to frontend features (React or similar) when needed.
- Design robust, scalable applications and system architectures.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development and problem-solving.
- Write and refine effective AI prompts for engineering workflows.
- Collaborate with Product and Design to deliver features.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile processes.
- Debug and resolve production issues and performance challenges.
