Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to design and scale backend services powering real-time vulnerability detection and remediation across millions of endpoints. You will work at the intersection of security data, distributed systems, and AI-assisted risk prioritization, contributing to high-impact, high-visibility product lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years experience in Java software development for product applications; Kotlin is a plus.
• 4+ years experience working with highly scalable software systems.
• Experience scaling systems and solving scale challenges.
• Working knowledge of a breadth of OOP design principles.
• Expertise in API best practices and REST service development (Jersey/Spring).
• Relational database design and development experience.
• Experience client and server-side development for responsive messaging.
• Caching systems experience with Redis.
• Knowledge of quality testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services powering vulnerability detection, CVE correlation, and remediation workflows.
• Contribute to high-availability, mission-critical software running at scale across millions of endpoints.
• Collaborate with product and detection teams to improve features and reliability.
• Commit code and ship products in a startup-like environment with quality-first standards.
• Other duties as needed.
