Job summary

Citi in Jersey City seeks a Senior Java Developer, Vice President, to lead applications development within the Cross Asset Margin technology team. You will guide design, coding and production deployments, collaborating with architecture, infrastructure and the Quant group.

The role emphasizes scalable Java solutions, microservices, cloud-ready patterns and strict adherence to governance and risk standards. You will mentor engineers, drive efficient development workflows and ensure high quality

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of Apps Development experience with hands-on coding.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, Kafka and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Microservices architecture, API-first design and cloud platforms (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in applications programming and ensure alignment with architecture.
• Lead design standards, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Oversee production releases and ensure governance and risk compliance.
• Coach mid-level developers and analysts and allocate work as needed.
• Identify risks in operations and define efficient, scalable solutions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and drive high-quality engineering.
