Citi invites a Senior Java Backend Developer to join the Margin Calculation team within Prime Services in New York. You'll own end-to-end margin calculation functionality, work with global teams, and drive performance improvements on high-volume data processing.

The role requires hands-on Java development, strong design skills, and mentoring colleagues to raise engineering standards. A strong background in Spring and distributed systems is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development with strong Java expertise.
• Deep knowledge of core Java, collections, streams, concurrency, and memory management.
• Extensive Spring experience: Spring Boot, Batch, Integration, Data.
• Experience building high-volume, calc-intensive or distributed apps.
• Strong SQL and relational DB skills; testing with JUnit/Mockito.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deliver Java applications for margin calculation.
• Translate complex financial rules into maintainable, tested solutions.
• Lead technical design and contribute to the platform roadmap.
• Optimize performance via concurrency, caching, and efficient DB access.
• Develop batch and event-driven processing workflows.
• Review code, set standards, and mentor engineers.
• Own deliverables through the full development lifecycle.
• Investigate production issues and implement long-term fixes.
• Improve monitoring, resiliency, and operations support.
• Collaborate with global teams to manage dependencies and risks.
• Ensure security, regulatory, and tech-control compliance.
