Job summary

Citi in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Senior Java Architect to lead the design of enterprise-scale data platforms powering analytics, dashboards, and data visualization. You will define the Java-based architecture, build high-performance pipelines, and guide a team of data engineers to deliver production-grade solutions at scale.

The role requires expert Java, Spring, microservices, and real-time streaming with Kafka/Flink.

Qualifications

Expert-level Java with Spring Framework and microservices design.
Extensive experience building large-scale data lakes and pipelines.
Proficiency in distributed systems and real-time streaming.
SQL proficiency across AWS/Azure/GCP and containers (Docker/Kubernetes).
6+ years in data/software engineering with at least 3 in leadership.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve architecture for Citi's enterprise data lake and analytics platform.
Design scalable microservices in Java/Spring Boot for batch and streaming workloads.
Mentor a team of data engineers and drive agile delivery.
Build high-scale data pipelines with Kafka, Flink, Iceberg, and Pinot.
Optimize storage and query performance across Delta Lake, Iceberg, Snowflake, and Databricks.
Collaborate with Data Scientists, PMs, and leaders to translate analytics needs into platform capabilities.
