Job summary

Citi, the leading global bank, is seeking a Senior Java Big Data Developer to design and build core components of the Regulatory Reporting Hub in Jersey City. You will apply expert Java/J2EE skills, Spring, Spark, Kafka, and Hadoop ecosystem to deliver regulator-facing analytics and data processing.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders and technology partners, lead design discussions, and mentor junior engineers in an agile delivery environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience in Java with expert-level Core Java, Spring, Web Services, and J2EE.
• 5+ years of experience implementing enterprise-level Java development projects.
• Expert-level knowledge of Apache Spring, Spark, and Kafka; and the Cloudera ecosystem (Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Impala).
• Strong understanding of JSON, XSD, RESTful services, design patterns, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with business users to gather, clarify, and document requirements for the Regulatory Reporting Hub.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications with technology teams.
• Lead design and architecture discussions for the application.
• Define the overall testing strategy and manage UAT with stakeholders.
• Provide post-implementation support and ensure stability and issue resolution.
• Guide junior engineers and contribute to agile delivery.
