Job summary

Dev Technology Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Java Application Developer for a hybrid role in Ashburn, VA.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications, collaborating with Agile teams and stakeholders to deliver mission-critical solutions for a government customer. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Java, experience with Spring/Spring Boot, Jira, automated testing with JUnit, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of work experience in Java applications and frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience in Agile team development using Jira or similar tools.
• Experience writing automated unit tests with JUnit.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate with teammates to meet client needs.
• Demonstrates passion for solving complex software challenges and learning new technologies.
• This is a hybrid position with 1–2 days onsite in Ashburn, VA.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications (Spring ecosystem).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, manage Jira tasks, and drive continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot issues in production and non-production environments.
• Learn new technical skills to meet project needs and customer expectations.
