Job summary

BCforward in Newark, NJ is seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our team as a contract resource. The role focuses on Java application development, LLE triage, and release support, with strong Core Java expertise and OO design.

You will contribute to scalable components and services and work with Spring frameworks to deliver robust REST and SOAP services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with J2EE, various app servers, JPA/Hibernate, and XML processing.

Qualifications

• Proven Core Java proficiency and OO design skills.
• Experience with J2EE apps and app servers (WebSphere/ WebLogic/ JBoss/ Tomcat).
• Strong Spring framework experience and REST/SOAP web services.
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate and XML processing.
• Familiar with design patterns and UML for component design.
• Experience with distributed caching and encryption/PKI.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
• Perform LLE triage and production support for stability.
• Create and review designs using patterns and UML.
• Support release activities including deployment and validation.
• Develop REST and SOAP services and web applications with Spring.
• Implement data access via JPA/Hibernate and XML processing.
• Tune performance for high-volume transactions.
