Job summary

BCforward in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a .NET UI and Java/Spring Boot Developer to join our Equities Market Data Technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in .NET UI, Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot to deliver large-scale enterprise solutions for market and reference data platforms.

This contract role offers a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days onsite per week, a 12-month duration, and pay of $68.25 per hour (W2).

Qualifications

• Strong Java development experience (Java 8–21).
• Expertise with Spring Framework & Spring Boot, DI and service/repository patterns.
• Experience designing DTO-based REST services and Spring MVC endpoints.
• Good understanding of multi-threaded application development.
• Familiar with Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain market and reference data capture, distribution, analytics, and workflow solutions.
• Deliver new features including data source integrations, analytics, new datasets, service enhancements, and UI improvements.
• Improve application availability, resiliency, scalability, and supportability across production environments.
• Own deliverables across the SDLC including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate closely with quants, product, business users, and cross-functional engineering teams in an Agile setting.
• Re-engineer and stabilize existing applications to meet evolving business needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong Java development experience, preferably from Java 8 through Java 21.
• Expertise with Spring Framework and Spring Boot, including dependency injection and service/repository patterns.
• Experience designing and implementing DTO-based REST/service layers and exposing endpoints using Spring MVC.
• Good understanding of multi-threaded application development.
• Experience with Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Enterprise UI development and service integration experience.
• Familiarity with modern SDLC tools and practices including Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Agile, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Investment banking IT experience.
• Experience partnering with production management and infrastructure teams.
