Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Senior ITS Engineer to join our Fairfax, VA area and other Virginia and Maryland offices. You will lead ITS design on projects including vehicle detection, surveillance, dynamic message signs, toll signs, toll gantries, and CAV technologies, working within a team of traffic engineers.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years ITS and traffic engineering experience, PE license, and familiarity with VDOT/MDOT standards.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering.
PE license required.
Minimum 10 years of ITS design and traffic engineering.
VDOT, MDOT and/or design-build experience preferred.
MicroStation experience required.
Project management and leadership skills preferred.
Ability to effectively develop new business.
Electrical design experience preferred.
Working knowledge of VDOT and/or MDOT standards preferred.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Manage and perform various ITS related tasks as noted above
Lead and mentor a group of traffic engineers
Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit.
Prepare scopes of work, schedules, and fee proposals
Meet with clients
Participate in business development
