Job summary

Dewberry seeks a Senior ITS Engineer to join our team in the Roanoke region, with potential office locations in Fairfax, VA, Baltimore, MD, Virginia Beach, VA, Roanoke, VA or Richmond, VA. You will lead ITS design on projects including detections, signage, toll gantries, and CAV technologies, while mentoring engineers and managing schedules and budgets.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in ITS/traffic engineering, strong communication skills, and experience with VDOT/MDOT or design-build

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• PE license required.
• Minimum 10 years of ITS design and traffic engineering experience.
• VDOT/MDOT and/or design-build experience preferred.
• MicroStation experience required.
• Project management and leadership skills preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform ITS related tasks.
• Lead and mentor a group of traffic engineers.
• Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental teams.
• Prepare scopes of work, schedules, and fee proposals.
• Meet with clients.
• Participate in business development.
