Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Senior ITS Engineer to lead ITS design across multiple offices (Fairfax, VA; Baltimore, MD; Virginia Beach, VA; Roanoke, VA; Richmond, VA). The role focuses on ITS/ETC projects for mid-Atlantic and eastern U.S. clients, with potential for part-time telework and flexible hours.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in ITS and traffic engineering, PE license, and microstation experience. Strong communication and budget monitoring are essential, plus leadership and business

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• PE license required.
• Minimum 10 years of ITS design and traffic engineering experience.
• VDOT, MDOT and/or design-build experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of VDOT and/or MDOT standards preferred.
• Project management and leadership skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage ITS related tasks and lead the ITS design on projects.
• Lead and mentor a group of traffic engineers.
• Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit.
• Prepare scopes of work, schedules, and fee proposals.
• Meet with clients.
• Participate in business development.
