Job summary

Planet is seeking a Senior Analyst, International Trade Compliance (ITC) to join the global Legal organization and strengthen export/import compliance. You will work with engineers, supply chain, IT, security, and external counsel to mitigate risks and support licenses and authorizations.

The role requires experience in satellite/space industry and a hybrid schedule from the San Francisco HQ three days a week.

Qualifications

• Experience in international trade compliance, legal, or contracting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
• Strong negotiation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience reading and applying ITAR and EAR regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in deliverables.
• Ability to work independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

• Guide interpretation of ITAR/EAR and related regulations.
• Manage export/import authorizations Lifecycle to support operations.
• Conduct export/import training and communicate guidance to stakeholders.
• Interface with US government agencies on trade compliance.
• Develop and implement internal policies and shipment review procedures.
• Review and approve international shipment requests.
• Document export classifications and track technology developments.
• Prepare/submit Commodity Jurisdiction and advisory requests as needed.
• Negotiate control matters and assist with audits and investigations.
