Job summary

The role requires expertise in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and clinical documentation improvement, with leadership skills to mentor staff and manage change within the coding department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, Associates degree in Health Information Management/Health Information Technology, or 3 years managerial experience in Health Information Management or Coding.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC certifications are preferred.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and E/M coding systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of Hospital Coding Department to ensure workflow and data accuracy.
• Collaborate with physicians on coding and documentation guidelines.
• Conduct coding audits and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor aging and DNB accounts for timely coding and quality.
• Provide training and mentorship to coding staff; lead performance reviews.
• Develop and monitor coding policies and compliance programs.
