Job summary

Zone 5 Technologies is hiring an experienced IT Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust enterprise infrastructure. You will work across IT, engineering, and program leads to deliver scalable systems, improve security posture, and ensure reliable operations for the U.S.

government-focused environment. Ideal candidates bring five+ years in IT systems engineering, strong Windows/Linux server experience, and hands-on ability with Python or PowerShell.

Qualifications

• Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or five+ years of work experience as IT Systems Engineer or related role.
• Experience: five+ years in IT Systems Engineer or related role with solid enterprise IT architecture understanding.
• Technical skills: broad infrastructure tools/technologies incl. firewalls, routing, switching, wireless, authentication; Windows/Linux servers; Python or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new infrastructure to accommodate growth and new requirements and decommission end-of-life systems.
• Provide advanced Tier 3 troubleshooting and support to desktop team.
• Plan and implement new initiatives set forth by leadership.
• Maintain patching and monitoring of infrastructure.
• Collaborate with IT Security Engineer to implement security standards (CMMC 2.0).
• Enforce monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting of application performance, enterprise infrastructure, security, backup, COOP/DR, and high availability.
• Work with CMMC Security Analyst and IT Security Engineer to design and maintain systems to CMMC 2.0 standards.
