Job summary

Tines is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to design, build, and improve the internal systems that support our growing business. You’ll own automation, integrations, and enterprise platform improvements that make our environment more secure, reliable, and scalable.

You’ll report to our Boston-based IT Manager and collaborate with Security and Internal Automation to help employees build and use technology safely. This is a hands-on role with broad impact.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of relevant IT systems engineering experience.
• Experience across enterprise platforms: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, AWS, identity providers, or endpoint management.
• Experience building automated workflows and self-service solutions via APIs or scripting.
• Strong troubleshooting using logs and CLI tools to investigate complex issues and implement durable improvements.
• Sound judgment around access controls, data security, testing, change management, and maintenance.
• Experience independently delivering technical projects and communicating with engineers, operations, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the administration and improvement of enterprise platforms, including Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, AWS, and other core IT systems.
• Design, build, test, document, and maintain automated workflows and integrations that reduce manual work and enable reliable employee self‑service.
• Partner with IT Operations to investigate escalations, identify root causes, and replace recurring issues with scalable improvements.
• Lead systems engineering projects from requirements gathering through rollout, monitoring, and handoff with security and maintenance in mind.
• Work with Security, Internal Automation, stakeholders, and vendors to support secure use of enterprise technology.
• Contribute to systems, processes, and documentation that support future Federal environment requirements.
