Job summary

Alaska Communications invites applications for a Senior System Administrator in Anchorage. You will lead a team supporting IT managed services, acting as SME on escalations and ensuring top‑tier customer service and effective ticket handling.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s in IT and at least six years of workstation/server experience, plus hands‑on knowledge of MS Project, SharePoint, Excel, SAP Project System and SQL.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: Minimum of six (6) years in workstation and server management, new program installation, machine setup, problem identification and resolution.
• Computer Skills: MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Visio; SAP Project System and SQL knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the team to ensure progress on service orders and adherence to policies; provide coaching.
• Coordinate with Tier I and vendors to align support with client needs and urgency.
• Manage client documentation including credentials, network diagrams, rack elevations, and site maps.
