Job summary

City of Austin seeks an IT Systems Administrator Senior to expertly manage IT infrastructure, software, and hardware within an enterprise environment. You will evaluate and implement tech solutions, ensure governance and security, and support disaster recovery planning.

The role involves collaboration with vendors and internal teams to optimize performance. The ideal candidate will have strong Windows Server/Desktop experience, cloud tooling, and the ability to plan and execute complex IT

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2 years of experience; experience may substitute education up to 4 years.
Experience with Windows desktop and server systems preferred.
Experience administering and supporting cloud-based software and MS Azure environments.

Responsibilities

Architect, implement, configure, manage, and monitor IT infrastructure and systems.
Establish IT policies, governance, standards, and security.
Procure and plan software/hardware purchases; ensure specifications meet standards.
Install and upgrade software, perform testing, and document procedures.
Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing; support vendor communications.
