Job summary

Amazon Robotics IT is seeking a Senior IT Support Engineer to lead and escalate a team of IT professionals, owning critical infrastructure with emphasis on networking and Linux systems. You will support robotics lab environments, work closely with R&D and engineering teams, and drive continuous improvement across IT operations.

You will manage site projects, liaise with global SME teams, and mentor IT staff while delivering white glove support to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent IT experience.
• Experience with networking technology (TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS and DHCP).
• Experience in Linux systems administration and/or development.
• Experience with network hardware: switches and routers.
• Experience in managing and troubleshooting networks or in technical support with Linux and networking protocols.
• Experience using Linux and related tools/languages.
• Experience in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and optimize IT infrastructure with emphasis on network architecture, Linux systems, AV, and end‑user devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, and wireless systems.
• Administer Linux‑based systems (Ubuntu, RHEL) including server configuration, patching, scripting, and performance tuning.
• Design and maintain lab network segmentation for AI/ML development and testing workflows.
• Support physical buildout of robotics lab environments (rack and stack, GPU clusters, cabling).
• Liaise with global SMEs to install and maintain networking and server infrastructure per Amazon standards.
• Perform site audits to ensure adherence to IT and Health & Safety guidelines.
• Lead site and cross‑functional IT projects; translate requirements into network and systems design, procurement, deployment plans.
• Mentor and train IT staff; produce weekly reports; travel occasionally.
