Job summary

DC Public Library seeks a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist MSS-14 to lead technology operations, staff, and enterprise IT initiatives across the District’s library system.

The role requires advanced IT leadership, strategic planning, and strong collaboration with districts agencies and vendors to deliver secure, scalable library technology services and support community learning and digital inclusion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Science, MIS, or closely related field
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience leading, managing, implementing, and supporting enterprise IT operations, with at least five (5) years in supervisory/managerial roles
• Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity, information security governance, risk management, and IT security frameworks

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement technology plan, business case justifications, and cost/benefit analyses for technology initiatives.
• Collaborate across departments to maintain a technology plan supporting programs and operations.
• Manage governance to prioritize technology projects and monitor performance via SLAs and metrics.
• Oversee IT infrastructure, networks, servers, and end-user support to ensure stable, reliable systems.
