Job summary

Lumen is the trusted network for the AI-powered world, enabling IT strategy and value realization across cloud, finance, and operations. This Principal role partners with Technology VPs and Finance to translate investments into measurable business outcomes.

You’ll own cloud program budgeting, forecasting, governance, and executive reporting while leading cross-functional workstreams and building disciplined controls that improve efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in IT strategy, technology finance, business operations, consulting, transformation, or related disciplines.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis, business cases, capital and expense management.
• Strong knowledge of cloud economics, FinOps, cloud-provider billing, and procurement processes.
• Ability to connect technology strategy to business outcomes, operational efficiency, and revenue impact.
• Experience influencing senior leaders and coordinating work across Technology, Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable, vendors, and business teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, executive presentation, and problem-solving skills; familiarity with dashboards and AI/automation.

Responsibilities

• The role partners with Technology VPs, Finance, business leaders, and external partners to shape IT strategy and drive disciplined execution.
• Own cloud program budgeting, forecasts, governance, and reporting; translate investments into business value.
• Lead cross-functional programs, manage procurement and contract-level capital/expense forecasts, and post monthly actuals.
• Develop dashboards, scorecards, and portfolio reporting for Cloud Program leadership.
• Maintain strong financial controls and operating processes across the IT function.
• Provide detailed cloud-spend analysis across AWS, Microsoft, and Google; support accruals and variance explanations.
