Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior IT Category Manager to lead sourcing and vendor governance for IT categories, including hardware, software, and services. You will collaborate with stakeholders and the Corporate Services Vendor Contracting team to negotiate contracts and align vendor obligations with business requirements.

You will develop sourcing strategies, run RFPs/RFIs/RFQs, and track performance metrics while driving total cost of ownership improvements and risk mitigation across IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in category management or related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish sourcing strategies for an assigned IT category in collaboration with stakeholders; focus on IT hardware, with software and services involvement as needed.
• Conduct sourcing events, develop project work plans, category profiles, and evaluation criteria; manage RFPs, RFIs, RFQs.
• Develop and implement bid documents and manage status reporting and performance metrics for sourcing activities.
• Lead vendor negotiations and coordinate vendor relationship management and governance for assigned categories.
• Review supplier performance, implement risk mitigation, and ensure compliance with contracts and corporate policies.
