Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior IT Category Manager to lead sourcing and vendor governance for IT categories, including hardware, software, and services. The role aims to reduce total cost of ownership while mitigating risk through strong governance and aligned vendor contracts.

You will partner with vendors, business owners, and the Corporate Services Vendor Contracting team to prepare, analyze, and negotiate contracts, ensuring supplier obligations meet business requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree required; or 7+ years of related experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a related field; 7+ years if no degree.
• Experience in IT hardware/software/services sourcing and vendor governance.

Responsibilities

• Establish sourcing strategies for IT categories, focusing on hardware and involvement in software/services.
• Conduct sourcing events and develop category strategy, requirements, and evaluation criteria.
• Develop bid documents (RFP/RFI/RFQ) and manage reporting and KPIs for sourcing activities.
• Forecast market dynamics and share SME insights within the product/services portfolio.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to source products using proven tools and analytics.
