Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior IT Category Manager to lead sourcing and vendor governance for IT hardware, software and services, with a strong focus on reducing total cost of ownership and mitigating risk. You will partner with vendors, business owners, and the Corporate Services Vendor Contracting team to prepare, analyze, and negotiate vendor contracts.

This role also supports business owners across functions in vendor selection and ensures contract obligations align with business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish sourcing strategies for IT hardware, software and services in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Conduct sourcing events, including category profile and evaluation criteria development.
• Develop and manage bid documents (RFP/RFI/RFQ) and track performance metrics.
• Analyze market dynamics and provide TCO-based optimization recommendations.
• Coordinate vendor negotiations and oversee supplier relationship management.
