Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Service Desk Specialist to provide operational support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for mission-critical IT systems on the MAJESTIC Joint Program Office (JPO) Team. On-site at Springfield, VA, the role emphasizes end-user support and proactive problem-solving.

The ideal candidate brings expertise in Windows Server, RHEL, and virtualization, with a proactive attitude to resolve challenges for local and dispersed stakeholders. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional experience supporting enterprise IT environments.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI with Poly.
• Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux system administration.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware/Nutanix/Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of networking basics and IT security standards (NIST 800-53/DoD RMF).

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve end-user support requests and incidents.
• Identify issue type and escalate to appropriate team.
• Support configuration and operation of virtualized environments (VMware/Nutanix/Hyper-V).
• Perform daily infrastructure monitoring and route change requests.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, troubleshooting guides, FAQs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new hardware/software.
