Job summary

South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking an IT Manager II to lead the server team at Headquarters in Blythewood, SC. The role focuses on server administration, security, and cross-team collaboration to ensure reliable IT services and customer support.

You will mentor staff, manage incidents, and drive modernization across Shared Services, including Azure, Active Directory, and SCCM. A strong leadership background and security mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field with experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology.
• Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of the server team and coordinate server activities with other teams.
• Mentor, train, develop, and evaluate server staff via the EPMS process and manage server security with Security Team, Network Operations, and Desktop Support.
• Oversee administration, management, and monitoring of the SCDMV server infrastructure within the Shared Services environment.
• Provide technical direction on Microsoft products/services such as Azure Cloud Services, Office 365, Azure AD, Exchange, DHCP, DNS, SCCM, and Virtual Infrastructure Management.
• Monitor performance, patching, and security; document system configurations and lifecycle plans.
• Provide budget forecasts and review shared services invoices; develop modernization roadmaps.
• Assist ISIRT in detecting and resolving security issues and maintain incident tracking.
