Job summary

South Carolina DMV (SCDMV) is seeking an IT Manager II to lead the server team at our Blythewood headquarters. You will mentor staff, oversee security, and direct Microsoft 365 and Azure services for optimal uptime and reliability.

You will collaborate with IT Infrastructure Director and Security teams, manage incidents, and drive modernization while ensuring adherence to agency procedures and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/IS or related field and experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology.
• Experience substituting a degree on a year-for-year basis may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Manages the daily activities of the server team and coordinates server activities with other teams.
• Uses the DMV IT trouble ticket system to manage tickets; mentors, trains, and evaluates server staff via the EPMS process.
• Oversees server infrastructure security and administration within the Shared Services environment.
• Provides technical direction on Microsoft products/services (Azure Cloud, Office 365, Azure AD, Exchange, SCCM, and Virtual Infrastructure).
• Performs performance monitoring, software lifecycle patching, and documentation of system configurations.
• Develops short/long-term modernization plans and budget forecasts for Shared Services.
• Maintains procedures for updating configurations and documentation; supports ISIRT in identifying and resolving security incidents.
