Job summary

The National Audubon Society is seeking a Senior Manager, IT Security Operations to lead and advance our security program across systems and networks. This role focuses on safeguarding sensitive data, enhancing incident response, and implementing secure operations with a team of security professionals.

This hybrid position supports offices nationwide with a preference for in-office Mondays and Tuesdays, and allows remote work within the United States per policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with IT operations with progressive cybersecurity responsibilities in corporate or nonprofit environments.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity technologies and best practices.
• Proficiency in administering security tools and systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Identity preferred.
• Experience with Okta preferred.
• Experience with SonicWall hardware preferred.
• Experience with distributed network environments preferred.
• AWS/Azure/Public cloud expertise preferred.
• Experience with SecDevOps best practices preferred.

• Security Incident Response: detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents.
• Security Tool and Services Management: operate and optimize security tooling.
• Security Policy and Compliance: enforce security policies and governance.
• Access Control and Authentication: manage access controls across systems.
• Vulnerability Management: identify, track, and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Security Awareness and Training: promote security best practices.
• Security Documentation: maintain clear security runbooks and docs.
• Collaboration and Communication: work with IT and business teams.
• Server and Network Configuration: support secure configurations.
