The Panther Group is hiring a Senior IT Project Manager for a contract to manage projects for a leading university in Boston, MA. This is a 12-month contract with opportunity to extend.Please note: No C2C, Subcontracting or Visa Sponsorship of any kind is available for this position.This is a hybrid position - three days / week on-site in Boston.This is a high-visibility role for an experienced IT Project Manager who has successfully led large, complex technology initiatives and enterprise-wide change management efforts. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading cross-functional teams, managing executive stakeholders, and driving projects from initiation through implementation and post-go-live stabilization.Lead Large-Scale IT ProjectsLead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technology projects across multiple departments.Develop and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, scope, budgets, and resource requirements.Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.Ensure projects remain aligned with organizational priorities and deliver measurable business value.Drive Enterprise Change ManagementDevelop and execute change management strategies for major technology implementations.Conduct stakeholder impact and readiness assessments.Develop adoption and communication plans to support successful technology transitions.Coordinate user training and enablement activities.Monitor adoption following implementation and address gaps or resistance.Support post-go-live stabilization and coordinate corrective actions as needed.Manage Stakeholders & CommunicationServe as a key liaison between business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders.Build strong relationships across departments and maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle.Communicate project status, risks, issues, milestones, and decisions clearly to leadership and governance groups.Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable business information.Lead Cross-Functional TeamsProvide direction and support to project teams made up of technical, business, and external resources.Establish clear responsibilities, timelines, and expectations.Drive accountability and collaboration across teams without relying on direct authority.Navigate competing priorities and organizational change to keep projects moving forward.Reporting & Financial ManagementMonitor project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and overall performance.Prepare project status reports, dashboards, schedules, and leadership updates.Track financials and identify opportunities for improved resource and budget management.Lead lessons-learned and post-project documentation.What We're Looking For8–10 years of progressive IT project management experience.Proven experience managing large, complex, cross-functional IT projects.Required: 5–10 years of change management experience, including:Change management planningStakeholder impact and readiness assessmentsUser adoption strategiesTraining and enablementPost-go-live stabilizationExperience delivering enterprise technology projects such as CRM, ERP, infrastructure, data integration, or cloud initiatives.At least 5 years working with business leaders, technical teams, and executive stakeholders.Strong experience leading cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations.Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Experience managing competing priorities in fast-paced or changing environments.Strong understanding of project risk management, resource planning, and budgeting.Ability to use data and project metrics to support planning and decision-making.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid project management methodologies.Experience with change management frameworks and stakeholder adoption strategies.Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, and/or Jira.Strong understanding of the relationship between technology, business processes, and organizational change.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other common project management/reporting tools.Education & Preferred QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.Project management certification such as PMP, Agile, or PRINCE2 is preferred.Experience working on university or higher education technology projects is a plus.Pay $90.00 - $97.90 per hour W2 Depending on Experience#INDIT
