Job summary

Franklin County Auditor’s Office is seeking a senior Program Manager / IT Project Manager to own a portfolio of in-flight technology projects after a tax accounting system migration. The role stabilizes active initiatives, enforces delivery discipline, and drives predictable execution across about ten migration efforts.

The ideal candidate holds a PMP certification, has 5+ years of IT project management experience, and a proven ability to rescue distressed projects while coordinating analysts,

Qualifications

• PMP certification required.
• 5+ years of hands-on IT project management experience.
• Proven experience taking over active or distressed IT projects.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent technology projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational management of multiple active IT projects
• Report directly to the IT Director and align project execution with leadership priorities
• Manage projects involving application migrations, data warehouse updates, and reporting remediation
• Break ongoing work into clear milestones, deliverables, and execution plans
• Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules and plans
• Coordinate work across business analysts, developers, SMEs, and external consultants
• Mentor business analysts on documentation standards and project discipline
• Facilitate project meetings using Microsoft Teams
• Schedule, track, and manage meetings and communications using Microsoft Outlook
• Identify risks, dependencies, and decision points early and drive resolution
• Escalate issues appropriately to maintain delivery timelines
• Ensure all project documentation meets audit and compliance requirements
• Enforce consistent project management standards across the project portfolio
• Perform other related duties as assigned
