Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking an Associate Vice President of IT Procurement & Supplier Management to lead a 40+-person team, align Technology strategy with procurement, and maximize value from the supplier ecosystem.

The AVP will shape demand, negotiate enterprise-wide contracts, and coordinate with Technology, Finance, Legal, Risk, Privacy and Information Security to drive fast, value-driven outcomes across software, cloud, hardware and services.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management or related commercial leadership roles.
• Significant leadership responsibility for complex Technology spend and supplier portfolios.
• 7+ years of people leadership experience, including building high-performing teams.
• Deep commercial expertise across Technology domains: software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, hardware, telecom, consulting.
• Experience with large portfolios and negotiations; portfolios approaching or exceeding $1B preferred.
• Proven ability to advise CIO-level executives and influence decisions without relying on authority.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technology’s Strategic Commercial Partner to translate strategy into integrated category, supplier and commercial plans.
• Lead end-to-end technology procurement across software/SaaS, cloud, hardware and services.
• Drive renewal planning, supplier governance and commercial leverage to meet enterprise value commitments.
• Embed AI, analytics and digital tools into strategy development, negotiation prep and supplier monitoring with clear accountability.
• Build and mentor a 40+ associate organization of Category Managers and Supplier Managers.
