Job summary

Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) seeks an IT Network and Security Engineer to support statewide network and security infrastructure across onsite, hosted, and cloud environments. You will plan, configure, and improve security programs, maintain redundancy, and collaborate with WaTech and vendors to prevent outages.

The role requires deep firewall, VPN, and network engineering expertise, with responsibilities spanning design, implementation, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years of qualifying professional IT experience in a professional IT environment.
• Experience with large multi-site switching environments and firewall administration (local and cloud).
• Experience with remote access and VPN configurations; education may substitute for IT experience as allowed.

Responsibilities

• Firewall Management: create security configurations, manage ACLs, and maintain firewall systems.
• VPN and Remote Connectivity: manage VPN configurations and work with WaTech for changes.
• Network Engineer: design and upgrade statewide networking hardware and software; ensure performance and availability.
• New Solution Implementation: design and implement new processes and technology to reduce risk and vulnerabilities.
• Network Operations Support: monitor and respond to network incidents and tickets.
