Job summary

3MD Inc. in Redmond, WA seeks an IT Support Associate III to design, implement, and maintain complex network, server, and virtualization environments supporting avionics test systems and business operations.

You will lead infrastructure projects, mature security and patching, mentor junior staff, and drive automation via scripting. This role requires onsite work and active collaboration with engineering and leadership teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of progressive IT support/systems administration experience
• Experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, macOS, and Linux systems

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise network, server, and virtualization infrastructure
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for complex hardware, software, network, and security issues
• Own security hardening standards, patch management, and continuous system monitoring
• Lead cross-functional IT infrastructure projects
• Develop and improve SOPs, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures
• Mentor Level 1/2 IT staff and guide career progression
• Design onboarding/offboarding workflows and access-control standards
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Bash
• Partner with engineering and leadership to translate infrastructure needs
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead root-cause analysis
• Maintain audit-ready documentation of configurations and networks
• Support IT budget planning and asset lifecycle
