Job summary

Tri-City Group in Davenport, IA is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain core infrastructure including servers, networking, virtualization, and cloud environments. This role handles escalation, project delivery, security and disaster recovery, and vendor coordination.

You will mentor Tier 1/2 staff, drive automation, ensure change management, and document configurations to support reliable, scalable operations. A degree and 4+ years in IT infra are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in IT infrastructure or advanced technical support.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper-V) and networking fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues beyond Tier 1 and Tier 2 support.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting across desktops, servers, networking, and cloud environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain Windows Server, Microsoft 365, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure.
• Manage and troubleshoot networking equipment, including firewalls, routers, switches, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless.
• Monitor infrastructure performance to support reliable operation.
• Plan and execute infrastructure projects, including migrations, upgrades, and security improvements.
• Coordinate project work with vendors and internal teams to keep delivery on schedule.
• Participate in change management to minimize disruption.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery practices.
• Monitor for security threats and support compliance and audits.
• Document configurations and maintain IT documentation and knowledge base.
