Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Senior Support Engineer to join a growing food manufacturing organization in Milwaukee. You will own complex infrastructure issues, provide escalation management, and collaborate across locations to keep critical systems running.

The role requires hands-on Windows Server, AD, Microsoft 365, Azure and VMware experience, strong networking, scripting with PowerShell, and a focus on security, backups, and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT infrastructure or related role.
• Hands-on Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 experience incl. AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Azure, Entra ID, Intune.
• VMware vCenter/ESXi virtualization knowledge.
• Strong networking: LAN/WAN, VPNs, VLANs, routing, firewall (Fortinet preferred).
• Backup, storage, DR planning experience.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Bachelor's in IT/CS preferred; relevant experience considered.
• Certifications: Azure/Identity, VMware, Security+, CCNA, Fortinet, ITIL.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support and escalation management for complex infrastructure and end-user technology issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Windows Server, AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and RDS issues.
• Manage Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Azure, Entra ID, and Intune environments.
• Support VMware vCenter and ESXi virtualization infrastructure.
• Maintain LAN/WAN connectivity, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and firewall administration.
• Assist with backups, storage, DR, and business continuity initiatives.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT projects and upgrades.
• Provide mentorship and promote best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotation outside normal hours.
