OnTrac is hiring an IT & Cyber Security Senior Engineer. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining security architectures across hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud) to enable the SOC and GRC teams.

The position requires 10+ years in IT/security, 3+ years lead experience, and strong scripting (Python/PowerShell/Bash). It offers remote work with competitive compensation and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT and Security.
• At least 3 years in a senior or lead engineering capacity.
• Strong ability to code/script in Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate security tasks.
• Deep understanding of SIEM, YARA rules, and EDR configuration to improve detection.
• Ability to interpret NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or SOC2 and implement the controls required to meet them.
• Preferred CISSP, CISM, or hands-on certifications like GIAC (GCIA, GCDA) or Offensive Security (OSCP).

Responsibilities

• SOC + GRC enablement: design and implement technical solutions for SOAR and automated risk monitoring/evidence collection.
• Security integration: lead integration of security tools to ensure a unified security posture.
• Risk management support: assist in technical risk assessments and remediation.
• Architecture & engineering: maintain security infra across hybrid environments with security-by-design.
• Incident response escalation: Tier 3 escalation for complex incidents requiring deep forensic/architectural expertise.
• Mentorship: guide junior engineers and analysts in security best practices.
