Job summary

OnTrac is seeking an IT & Cyber Security Senior Engineer to design, build, and maintain security architectures across hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud). You’ll enable the SOC with improved detection/orchestration and translate regulatory requirements into automated evidence collection.

The role combines deep hands-on engineering with strategic support, requiring leadership to guide junior engineers and align security controls with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent)
• 10+ years in IT and security
• Minimum 3 years in a senior/lead engineering role
• Strong scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation
• Deep understanding of SIEM, YARA, and EDR configurations
• Ability to map NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or SOC2 to technical controls
• Preferred CISSP, CISM, GCIA/GCDA or OSCP certifications

Responsibilities

• SOC + GRC enablement: design and implement solutions for SOC alert orchestration and automated risk monitoring
• Security integration: lead tools integration (EDR, SIEM, cloud security) for unified posture
• Risk management support: assist in technical risk assessments and remediation
• Architecture & engineering: secure infrastructure across on-prem/cloud
• Incident response escalation: Tier 3 support for complex incidents
• Mentorship: guide junior engineers and analysts in best practices
