Job summary

Energy CX is hiring a Senior IT Systems Engineer to own and operate our IT and cloud infrastructure end-to-end, including helpdesk, device management, security, and compliance. This hands-on role is in-person at a growing 100+ person company, with scope based on experience and a clear path to expanded responsibilities as we scale.

You will design and manage AWS and DigitalOcean environments, implement IaC, drive security programs, and coordinate audits while enabling AI-powered automation across

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a hybrid IT/infrastructure role at a small or mid-sized company
• Experience with device management and MDM platforms (Jamf, Kandji, Intune)
• Experience administering Google Workspace and policy/access controls
• Networking fundamentals: DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs
• Hands-on support responsibility, not just architecture
• Scripting in Bash or Python
• Experience with AWS (VPC, IAM, EC2) and IaC (Terraform)
• Familiarity with SOC2, ISO 27001, HIPAA or similar
• Experience with logging/observability stacks (Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch)
• Ability to work hands-on and collaborate with AI tooling in DevOps

Responsibilities

• Run internal IT operations including device management, MDM, account provisioning, onboarding/offboarding, endpoint protection, and help desk support
• Lead phishing training and security awareness programs
• Serve as internal liaison for IT vendor relationships
• Administer access controls, IAM, sharing rules, and security policies across SaaS tools
• Plan for compliance frameworks: evidence collection, audit coordination, maintenance and policy docs
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Design, deploy and own AWS and DigitalOcean cloud infra (VPCs, IAM, networking)
• Implement and maintain IaC with proper isolation and promotion workflows
• Own logging and observability strategy across infra and apps
