Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation’s BDAM Audit Team seeks a Senior IT Auditor to lead technology-focused audits, assess application risks, and validate remediation efforts. Collaboration with internal teams and external co-sourcing providers is essential.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5+ years IT audit experience, knowledge of control frameworks, and relevant certifications (CPA/CIA/CISA preferred). Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, with opportunities to influence governance and risk management.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years IT audit experience in financial services or related regulated environment.
• Experience performing internal audits in a complex regulatory setting.
• Knowledge of control theory and professional auditing practices.
• Ability to collaborate with external co-sourcing providers and internal lines of business.
• Certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA) preferred; other relevant certifications considered.
• Understanding of risks and internal controls and ability to evaluate their effectiveness.
• Keeps up-to-date with industry and regulatory issues and communicates findings clearly.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and execution of internal audit assignments focused on technology, ensuring work follows IIA standards and IAD policies.
• Draft audit observations and discuss findings with partners at VP level and below.
• Validate audit issue action plans and monitor remediation progress.
• Assist in annual risk assessment activities and document risk ratings.
• Coach and mentor audit team members and support onboarding.
• Complete required firm-wide and departmental administration and training tasks.
• Contribute to special projects and process improvements as needed.
