Job summary

FirstEnergy, headquartered in Akron, Ohio, seeks an experienced Consultant, IT Internal Auditing to lead IT assurance and advisory services across the company. You will partner with management to establish risk-based audit plans, execute complex IT audits from planning through reporting, and guide resources to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS/CS/Info Security, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 12 years of IT internal/audit or related experience.
• Professional certification within one year (CISA, CISSP, CPA, CIA).
• Strong oral and written communication to present risks to leadership.
• Subject matter expertise in SOX, ITGCs, IT risk assessments, and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Proven leadership and ability to manage multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and independently execute IT internal audit and SOX engagements from planning through reporting.
• Coordinate with management, business partners, and third-party providers to complete fieldwork.
• Evaluate IT and business risks, controls and processes to strengthen governance and compliance.
• Mentor and coach audit staff to improve quality.
• Develop audit reports with clear observations and recommendations.
• Drive continuous improvement in the Internal Audit function.
