Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. in Akron, OH, is seeking a Tax Planning professional to join the Tax Department at the corporate headquarters. This onsite role supports tax planning, accounting and compliance, reporting to the Director of Tax Planning.

The position handles internal reporting, SEC disclosures, investor relations materials, budgeting and forecasts, and auditor support, requiring strong analytical ability and Excel proficiency; SAP and QlikView experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
• Minimum 4 years relevant work experience
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; advanced knowledge of Excel a plus
• SAP knowledge is preferred
• Familiarity with QlikView or other reporting tools
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Utility or regulated industry experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute monthly internal reports
• Prepare, document and analyze SEC and regulatory reporting and disclosures
• Prepare materials for investor relations
• Assist in annual budgets and forecasts
• Provide support to external auditors
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and present findings to senior management
• Develop solutions to improve processes and efficiency
• Coordinate with multiple departments across the organization
