Job summary

Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is seeking a Senior IT Applications Engineer to lead enterprise application strategy, governance, and integration across document management, case management, and legal workflows. This hybrid role requires collaboration with attorneys and IT leadership to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years supporting enterprise apps within a law firm, strong governance and API design skills, and experience mentoring IT

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise business applications, with 5+ years in legal tech within a law firm.
• Experience leading application implementations, upgrades, migrations, and vendor management.
• Strong skills in designing enterprise integrations, APIs, web services, databases, and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical owner and SME for document management, case management, legal workflow, and business app platforms.
• Develop and maintain application roadmaps aligned with firm objectives and technology strategy.
• Oversee config, admin, monitoring, maintenance, and support of firm applications; troubleshoot incidents and coordinate vendor resolution.
• Design and maintain enterprise integrations and data services across platforms ensuring data synchronization.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes via automation, Copilot, and legal AI solutions.
• Lead application implementations, upgrades, migrations, and modernization with project planning and vendor coordination.
• Collaborate with attorneys and IT leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Mentor Application Analysts and document technical guidance and best practices.
