Job summary

Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is seeking a Senior IT Applications Engineer to own and optimize the firm’s core business applications. This hybrid role supports document management, legal workflow, and integration across platforms, with two days remote per week from the Minneapolis office.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in enterprise apps, legal technology, API integration, and vendor management, plus leadership and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise business applications.
• 5+ years supporting legal technology platforms in a law firm.
• Experience leading application implementations, upgrades, migrations, and vendor management.
• Strong skills in API design, web services, databases, SQL, and integrations.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner for document management, case management, and business platforms.
• Develop and maintain application roadmaps aligned with firm objectives.
• Oversee configuration, administration, monitoring, and support of firm applications.
• Design and maintain enterprise integrations, APIs, data services, and automation.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes via automation and AI solutions.
• Lead implementations, upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Partner with attorneys and IT leadership to translate business needs into solutions.
• Mentor analysts and promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
