Marathon Petroleum Company LP seeks an experienced Issues Management Senior Communications Specialist to protect reputation and guide enterprise messaging across leaders, employees, and external audiences.

You will lead strategic communications, crisis response planning, and issues-management initiatives, collaborating across the Communications & Community Relations organization. Position can be based in Findlay, OH; San Antonio, TX; or Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 8+ years of communications experience; crisis communications experience in industrial settings preferred; energy/manufacturing sector experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with leaders to advance business objectives through fit-for-purpose communications
• Create executive-level communications plans and materials for complex issues
• Develop and implement issues-management strategies and advisory content
• Respond to media inquiries and align corporate and local messaging
• Apply crisis communications principles under time-sensitive conditions and follow Incident Command System
• Produce and oversee content across articles, videos, presentations, social posts, newsletters
• Partner with team to align corporate positioning and communications channels
• Participate in emergency drills as part of Joint Information Center operations
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development
