Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) at the Information Assurance Specialist III/IV level. The role emphasizes interpreting government policies and maintaining RMF compliance for classified information systems tied to national space programs.

You will work on-site at our El Segundo facility, with hourly compensation and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of the Risk Management Framework and Assessment & Authorization processes.
• Experience implementing NIST 800-53, JSIG, and related IA doctrine.
• Current DoD 8570 Certification (Security+, CISSP, CISM).
• U.S. citizenship and TS/SCI clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Establish, monitor, and maintain compliance posture under the RMF from conception through decommissioning.
• Assist the ISSM in meeting responsibilities related to classified information systems.
• Ensure procedures for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware/media are in place and followed.
• Develop policies on data handling, computers, and networks; coordinate changes with ISSM and Authorization Official.
• Create and maintain A&A packages using customer tools.
• Lead incident handling and data transfers across systems with different classifications.
• Conduct continuous monitoring of classified information systems.
