Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to oversee the full RMF lifecycle, including A&A activities, for multiple systems, including AI/ML platforms.

The role requires experience with NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5, CNSSI 1253, and related policies, and includes mentorship of junior ISSO staff. 100% remote work is available from Washington, DC area contractors and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 12+ years of information system security experience.
• Experience conducting RMF assessments across multiple network environments.
• Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
• DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 IAM Level II or III.
• Ability to maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead RMF lifecycle activities across multiple systems and networks.
• Maintain RMF documentation (SSPs, SARs, SAPs, POA&Ms, BOE).
• Conduct concurrent RMF assessments and manage evidence in JCAM.
• Assess and authorize emerging technologies, adapting baselines as needed.
• Manage POA&M remediation and evidence collection through closure.
• Provide security metrics, dashboards, and status updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5, CNSSI 1253, and related policies.
• Coach and mentor junior ISSO staff and develop SOPs.
